ok im trying to get my old muffler off my 84 d88 so i can put my flowmaster 40 series on, the one currently on the car is pretty rusted together... i have no lift, just jack stands and so far ive tried useing a pipe saw but i cant get behind the clamps at such an angle...i tried a torch but it wont budge, i eventually just beat the :censored: out of it with a hammer, but yeah its still there... any tips/suggestions much appreciated

Without safety stands you will not be able to do the job right. Even then it would be difficult. I have done this in the driveway with safety stands and a hacksaw. Be prepared to finish the job with sore arms and shoulders. And be sure to use some safety googles too. If you are doing this yourself then you will probably be doing other things in the future as well so buying a set of stands and a hydraulic floor jack would be worth it. Shouldn't cost more that fifty bucks.
