I have an 1987 Olds Delta 88 Broughnam Royale. When I bought the car, this past summer, it was in near perfect shape. However, there is on;y one thing missing from the car. The Hood ornament. I have been looking at other Delta 88's I see in parking lots, and some of them have different ornament designs. I want to keep my car in stock condition, and all I need is a hood ornament. I would like to know, what style of ornament would be correct?

Well, the hood emblem on my 87 delta 88 royale is a rectangle, chrome trim surrounding it, and the center is maroon with "Royale" written in the middle.

Does your hood have that strip of chrome down the middle of the hood? If so, then that's the emblem...
Otherwise it's the other one.

No...I've actually seen that type of emblem on a royale brougham...my interior has that type of emblem...even though it's not a brougham. weird.

| Actually, it's a different take on this topic--now I know that the '89 Delta 88s didn't come with the hood ornament but I think it makes the car look more distinguished. Are they easy to install--what with trying to center the hole(s) on the hood where you're gonna mount it and stuff. Or would it be a better idea to leave well enough alone? |
