| I'm not sure if this is true but i heard that a 350 can be faster then a 455 because the 455 is just a big ass heavy engine and the 350 is smaller and just as fast, is this true? |

| an Olds 350 is around 60 lbs lighter than a 455... not a huge difference by any means...as far as a 350 being as fast as a 455, this CAN be true, depending on how both engines are built. A 350 has a higher RPM capability and less torque, whereas a 455 makes a TON of power at low RPMS, but peaks out at a lower RPM. It all basically depends on the build, and how high youre willing to wind it, you can run a steeper rear gear (4.10)with a 350 and make less overall power but still go fast, and you can run a higher gear(3.42) and a 455 and get the same results. It depends alot on the purpose of the car, how much you drive it, if its a dual purpose car, street car, race car, etc. |
