The top mount is fine, got that all bolted up both sides, only problem is trying to get the knuckle bolts in....how? The knuckle is a little farther up then the strut holes....what do I do?

is the sway bar holding the lower control arm up? in most cases all you need to do is pry the lwr arm down and it will let the knuckl line up, unless the struts arent the right ones! LOL
hope this helps |

Well, it's not off by too much, and I'm pretty sure they are the right struts. I'll try prying the control arm down...I tried lifting the strut with a jack and 2x4 but it just lifted the entire car up...my idea was it would compress the strut more, but that didn't happen. I tried compressing the spring, but there isn't enough room for the bolt to compress the spring. Only way I see it possible is if I buy a clamshell compressor instead...which would be much safer in the long run (no slipping and even compression). Like I said, these are preassembled so I would think they should just pop in...have to try harder today after school. I had a 3 page paper to do for English last night so I was kind of in a rush. Would removing the stabilizer bar help any? I read in Haynes to remove the tie rod...but that didn't make much sense to me and it didn't say to do that in the service manual...it's funny because both Haynes and the service manual just say "Install knuckle bolts" like it should take 3 seconds to do...

Why yes, yes they were. I just pushed down on the control arm and was then able to position them to get the knuckle bolts in....thanks a million! :)
Just need to get an alignment done now...
