| Welcome to the site. It sounds like you have a nice car. In the States we call it a Vinyl top (Usually it is made with vinyl instead of leather.....cheaper to make :) ). I like the bigger cars like 88s and 98s. They were known as the B bodied cars in the 60's and 70's. I owned a '76 98 Regency once, very nice ride. and also a '78 88 Broughm once which my wife adored. They were both very nice cars. |

Wow...Welcome to the Oldsmobile Connection!
I saw when you registered and looked at your location and just couldn't believe it! Are Oldsmobiles popular in Istanbul? I would guess they are pretty rare....
Welcome!
Oh, and you would know if it was a brougham or not if there is a trim piece on the side of the car that says "Brougham" ;)

thank you for your all welcome... :)
brando they are sure rare here but old people here are dont strange to GM brands because in 50s 60s 70s when our country couldnt produce their own cars in eevery people which can afford to buy a good car ordered american cars from there in that times...so middle aged and old people knows their value but not young ones :( ..
also i want to ssay something that may interest you... until middle of 90s ,nearly all Shared Taxi(we call it Dolmus) fleet were made up from 50s big american cars especially big 50s plymouths and chevys...but when industry is improved alotof things changed...people forgot american cars...and mostly because of GAS problem ...because GAS is real problem here its very expensive here...nowadays there are alo of classic cars for sale here most of from people that they cant afford to buy enough gas....
as I mentioned there were alot of american cars in that times but now most of them are dying because of lack of good care and expensive gas....but some amount of small group of american car lovers like us here trying to keep up them as long as it goes... and oldsmobiles are allways popular and will shine forever in their hearts of this small amount of american car lovers here...long live oldsmobile! |
