What performance modifications have you done to your ride, if any?

Man your starting to kill me with all these threads

Well heres what I have right now:
350 Rocket
Holley 650 spread bore w/ mech. secondaries
Black Jack headers
TH350 tranny with B&M stage 2 shift kit
3.73 posi

Near future:
Lunati 214/224 cam
TH200r4 OD tranny w/ D5 converter and shift kit
Jet Hot coat my headers
Maybe a Edlebrock Performer RPM intake
Either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 mendal bend dual exhaust

Future:
I'm getting a set of #5 heads off a 67 442 in my friends woods, their getting rebuild, slight port and polish and port matched to my intake
Replacing the weakest parts in my tranny
4 wheel disc brake coversion (I'm thinking of using Camaro disc brakes all the way around but I'll need bigger wheels)
If the compression in my engine is still 8.1 I'm upping it to 9:1 or 9.5:1, I'm not sure if it was changed when the guy rebuilt the motor
B-body spindle conversion
W25 ram air hood, not sure if this can be considered performance or looks.

I havent done many yet mainley because my entier pay check goes towards paying for college, but here is the list.

1. Pioneer CD player with organic el display
2. Two pioneer 300 watt subs, powered by a 350 watt directed audio amp
3. Laptop hook up to sterio to play mp3's with ease (still trying to find a center consel from a supreme so i can build it into that)
4. Two blue (soon to be red) neons under the dash


That's it so far, but like i said in another post this winter i'm taking it in to get all the rust fixed and to get a fresh coat of paint, still trying to decide if i should get it painted black or if it is a bad idea, i'm just not sure if black put over white will end up being bad if it get scrached or starts to peal or something.

Yeah, that looks sweet, and it would work like that in my car cus my dash is perty level on the bottom. If you could send me some info on it that would be cool. thanks

That really depends on what you want to know! Otherwise, just copy the design layout for the actual console...

But you'll need a cheap laptop, at least 100mhz pentium. If you want a color screen, make sure you like how it looks, because in daylight, a lot of laptop screens look like crap. This one isnt too bad in the daylight, at least I can read it, but at night, wow does it look good!

Anyways, talk to me, let me know what you have in mind, and what you need to know!

Well i am a computer nerd so i already have a laptop i plan to use, all i need to know is how to build a consel into my car cus i'm not to good with that stuff. It's hard with my car cus it has a 6 inch part in the middle of the floor that is higher then the rest, so i would have to make it wrap around that.

Right now the 73 is pretty much stock

350, 2bbl, single exhaust (stock except for the muffler)

future mods (this winter) dual exhaust system (probably 2 - 2.5"?) and whatever mufflers will work out best for me (I'm not looking to wake the neighborhood up, but it could stand to be a little louder <-- any suggestions? and the "true dual" sound is tough to beat) I'll need to block the crossover hole on the passenger side exhaust manifold, but it can be done.

If I still have any money left to my name, it's gona be a new intake and 4 barrel carb. Probably go with Edelbrock on both of those.

That's about all I would want to do to this car as far as performance mods go, if it were a real sports car I'd go deeper but she's more of a cruiser at heart..... it'll just be a cruiser with a bit of an attitude :twisted:

hey 95cierra...

are you prepared to rip the laptop apart? I needed to detatch the screen, remove it from its casing, and bolt it, and the screen's inverter to my console. The laptop lays directly underneath the screen. Anyways...

My car has a hump in the middle of the car aswell, and it was no problem... Build around it. I will remove the console from my car and take some pictures of it to get a better idea for you...

Maybe we should start our own thread... Looks like stroker wants us to be discussing mechanical things in his thread :-)

Well I have a stock 305 V8 210 bhp... gonna put a flex-lite cooling fan (a fixed fan can rid you of up to 22 hp so electric is the best )on...remove the A/C... change to Serpentine belts... I added a Chrome air cleaner (14")... my carb is a M4ME Rochester (I rebuilt it today, it was BAD!) and I'm told it is a 800 cfm... :? the secondaries are big enough to shove your fist through...she does 0-60 in about 5 seconds... added Marvel mystery oil to the mix to clean the valves ect.
YES SHE IS A LEAD SLED :twisted: but she still smokes 'em! with ease...
It has all new brakes...(to stop the Lead Sled) 12" rotors up front and I think 9 or 11 drums up back... not exactly like stroker's wagon but I still like mine! 8)

get a Quadra jet intake from a junkyard, with the carb... Edlebrock does however have carbs that bolt right up to the stock manifold... you might be able to get an adapter for you car also...

Would love to do a L67 swap, but i'd need to get a different car. i could get that 1988 International and do it that'd be awesome! As for the Lowrider I think I'm done w/ it and odds are I'm going to sell it around Februaury some time I got one offer for $2000 so anything more than that will do.

lol 88, its all good....most of my performance mods and plans are in the other 2 topics, and i'm NOT gonna try to rewrite em again...lol..especially the cutlass stuff...
73 delta...with your engine being basically stock, you could probably get away with 2.25" exhaust, although 2.5" might not be a bad idea, especially with the size of your car, and in case you DO decide to upgrade the cam anywhere in the future,or do any other little performance mods. Your biggest issues will be the crossover blockoff, making sure your car has the dual exhaust crossmember, and finding someone willing to bend tailpipes for your car, as theyre alot more difficult to do than a leaf spring car, having many more bends to clear the 4 link rear suspension. For mufflers, you could go the cheaper route with Dynomax turbos, which have a nice mellow sound, or if you want a longer lasting muffler, perhaps a Flowmaster 50 series or another of their quieter series. As these have a fully welded case, and not a crimped case like the cheaper turbo mufflers, they tend to outlast the cheaper types, but will be a bit more expensive.
As far as the intake and carb, you could go stock 4 barrel intake with an Edelbrock quadrajet, as Primer said, Or go with an Edelbrock Performer intake with a #1406 Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel. Being that your car is a cruiser, you shouldnt need more carb than this, i think the 750 may be a bit too much for your stock 350. You wont need to go with the Performer RPM intake, due to the fact that your car wont see much higher rpm useage. Another cheaper way to go would be to find a factory 4 barrel aluminum intake off a newer 307 engine. Basically the same flow as a stock 4 barrel, but with the weight savings of an aluminum intake.
