Well, I did my carb. rebuild... it spewed gas up through the carb... the thing (kit) never did look right, and the carb had some mis-match pieces...
I called around and it was $400 for a rebuild... and $200 for an Edelbrock.
The junk yards had nothing... and it was getting late, so I called in the Cavalry... My dad called up one of his old racing buddies, and he had one, it was 1 year newer, but it worked... paid $30 for it... the guy races GM trucks so he had all kinds of shit... mostly for his racing truck... |

30 bucks is ok... isnt it? As I remember from the many times I've rebuilt my carbs, there usually is a couple pieces left over that you dont use... They usually include a few extra peices for the different revisions of the same carb(maybe, I dont know why else they would).
At least thats what I've found....
But a new carb would be the way to go, especially an aftermarket one! |

| the Edelbrock carbs are a great carb...with a bit of tuning...its strange..some cars ya can just bolt it on and go..others need to have the primary metering rods changed to get a decent idle and midrange...but for a cheaper replacement carb, as well as ease of assembly and rebuilding, they cant be beat...if any of you have had a quadrajet apart, you know what i mean  |
