So I am going to be replacing the struts on my Intrigue.
I have a few choices....

Monroe Reflex Struts
Monroe Sensa-Trac Struts
KYB GR-2 Struts
Springtech Struts

I AM NOT GOING TO LOWER IT, just wanted to make that clear....I was actually thinking about it, but then I thought about how I already have enough trouble getting the jack under there, driveways, etc....so yea....no lowering for me (unless it was active...like air...but I can't afford that right now).

Out of those four, the Monroe Reflex....are EXTREMELY expensive...is it really worth it?...like twice the price of the other struts. Next most expensive is the Monroe Sensa-Tracs, then the Springtech, and then the KYB being the cheapest (pretty close in price to the Springtechs though).

Anyone have experience with these struts? Opinions?

Let me know.

Thanks,

It looks like it's between the Monroe struts...because I go to KYBs site and they really don't say anything about the components/features of their struts like Monroe does on their site...Springtech...I've never even heard of that company and don't know what to think.

So yea, has anyone tried the Monroe Reflex struts? I'd like to know how they perform.

Yea, after reading some reviews on TireRack about the KYBs...I definately don't want those. Majority say it stiffens up the ride, and they like it, but I think they're lying cause they also say the ride is a bit rough (another calls it "more road feel")....how could you like a rough ride? To me, it sounds like the KYBs are comparable to replacing your struts with a solid steel rod.

Another person who bought the KYBs states:
"The ride is much firmer than I expected and on rough roads can be uncomfortable. The strut is; however, as advertised, i.e., it is a performance strut which provides very quick response with little body roll and keeps the tires in contact with the road very well." :-k

A steel rod would accomplish this....

"I drove the to an event @ Gingerman Speedway (MI) and another trip to BlackHawk Farms (IL) it was a brutal ride getting there but the car was awesome on the track!!"

yea....that's great.....

Hi Brando, hello All,

Sounds like you want OEM replacements.

Monroe has been selling them for as long as I can remember. They've had a reputation for lasting much longer that the factory units they replaced.

There are areas to spend extra money, and areas not to.

Regards, Norm

I put monroe sensa tracs on my car last time I changed. They are QUITE nice, overall a very comfortable ride. And, the car still handles really nicely at the same time. I'd say the monroes are the way to go too!

sensa tracs were fairly cheap, costing a little under $100 per strut CDN.
