| I talked to a guy yesturday, and well. (a) ive never heard some of the words he used tryin to explain how hard it would be, and (b) i shall not repeat them on here. he said its possible, but that its tough. and around here, id be looking at 500 bucks to get them and have them put in, they would have to lift the engine. he said that the manifold is a pretty high flow so right now, it would be more worth my money to plane the heads and do little stuff like get new valve springs, and have them degreed or whatever. so i dont know what do you guys think. he said that even getting the heads planed .015 and then putting a steel gasket there would give me more compression and could possibly add 40 HP when you factor in all 8 cylinders. tell me what you think. |

Hi c_creations, All,

It's what everone else does. If you want to play, you got to pay.

Were you talking to "Yogis 442"?
Depending on the intake manifold it’s little or no help. Head milling, valve springs and thin (not steel) head gaskets would be close to the same 500 you'd pay for the headers and might get you less than 5 HP.
Looks like you're posting different parts of the same question all over the board.
Before you do anything, you need to make a plan. Individual parts don't do much. Everything you do and add, must work together like a team. You might already have mods that are fighting each other.
Post everything you have in one thread and call it something like "How can I get the most out of my 350 G body".
Then post answers to these:
How fast do you want to go?
What's your budget and knowledge/experience level?
In detail, what has already been done to the car?
The more accurate the information you post, the better your plan will be.
Regards, Norm |
