Hi Renegade # 51, Hello everyone,
Welcome to TOC.

I don't know that there are any roundy racers on this board.
Your sig shows a 305 engine, which is a Chev. Chev site would be populated by people more likely to give you correct answers.
I've had more than a little experience with Ford, Mopar, and GM, but I only talk Olds on this board.
Regards, Norm |

Olds also used the 305, I'd like to know if they used it with center bolt heads in the Cutless Supreme between 81 and 86. |

I am well aware of that fact, and just as aware that the 305 is a Chev.
Are you aware that the 307 Olds and 305 Chev engines are two different designs and that nothing interchanges, except the distributor cap and rotor?

Your machine shop should have the answer. |

Yes I am, and like I said i've made the calls and did not get any results on this end. I guess what I am asking is, did Olds ever put a 305 in there Cutless Supreme ? |

Hello and Welcome to the site.
I believe Oldsmobile putting Chevy 305s stock in the Cutlass was a Canadian thing.

Checked with my shop. They knew the answer. It's why I use them, and it's why I'm answering your Chev question here:
First Vortex heads appeared in '95. You probably have them confused with a similar combustion chamber design that was used in '87. It was designed for, and used with, the TBI, to meet emissions requirements. |

Thanks for your help 88 Coupe and Brando. Also I had a machine shop in NC call me back today and the Olds 305 center bolt heads were used on the 86.87 and 88 rear wheel drive Cutlass.
P.S. Sorry to 88 Coupe for the confusion. |
