Hey guys i have a dynomax muffler and high flow cat. I am looking to add some performance parts to get some nice horsepower gains now i would do a cold air intake but i dont want to spend over 100$ and only gain 2 or 3 horse power.

What are the most price efficient mods that i could do?

Also can anyone recomend headers for my car or would they have to be custom and lastly whats a better muffler than the dynomax my car doesnt sound loud at all and im definatly looking for a beastly sound.

Thanks
jason

I dont know about 2 or 3 horse power, but if you search the site, there is plenty of info about building a cold air intake. Kind of a neat mod, but dont expect any noticeable gains, besides the placebo effect. I have run the cold air intake I built 2 years ago without any problems.

Its quite easy to build, try one out if you find the time. Worst that can happen is you dont like it and revert to stock.

There are at least 3 different topics that you will find detailed instructions to build one on the board. Just search for CAI.

if you're serious, I dont think a throttle body is a good place to start... Get a chip for your ecm. It'll be the most bang for your buck, IMO.

i ordered a chip for 173$ online

now i was reading that its possible to turbo this car
what would that cost
and what modifications would i have to make

the motor swap is going to be hard im still looking for a parts car to do it with but until them the turbo seams like a better option

any ideas on what turbo i could get? and what it would cost?
also what modifications would i have to make to make it work?

thanks

too much time, money and knowledge... ;-)

But again, thats just my opinion. If you're serious (you'll have to be really serious to do this to a grandma car ;-) ), have a L67 dropped into there. Loads of info on L67 swaps out there. Might end up being cheaper overall than rebuilding your current engine to handle a turbo, and then designing the turbo setup.

BTW, where did you order your chip from? I am curious, because I never thought they were that cheap.

Anyone know (for reference sake) if they have a chip for the VIN 3 3.8L? If I could get one for $173, it might be worth taking a look at. I hear a lot of factory shortcomings can be solved with a re-program.

Anyone know if there are differences from one chip manufacturer to the next? How about the ability to switch back to OEM programming?
