Hi Folks... I'm new in this neighborhood but I'm old on the car scene (35 years of car building).

I've owned several Oldsmobiles as well as many other makes and models... but I have a fondness for the Olds Torqy engines!

I've owned a 69, 70 and 71 Cutlass Supremes, a couple of "Longroof" wagons as well as a couple of 88's and would pick on the Mustang and Mopar boys with outstanding results!!! (pays to race your own race! )

Currently I'm building a 1931 (Model "A") Oldster with a 455 (G heads) turbo 400 for power hooked up to a Winters Quickchange. I have the Offenhauser Dual quad, Edlebroch 600 carbs, and a Mallory Dual point.

I know... I know... these are antiquated parts and I could get better performance from a Single 4 barrel and HEI ignition... but I'm looking for a Late sixties look for this project and keep the weight below 2,000 pounds.

I've built about twenty Hot Rods... but this is modeled after a friends '27 "T" Oldster with a relatively stock 1974 455.

The only modifications on the 2,300 pound caged "T" are an Edlebroch 4 bbl manifold Holley 750 carb and homemade Zoomies. This car has been running the Quarter mile now for 25 years at a consistant 11.41 e.t. @115 mph...!!!!

I have a "HUGE Respect" for the guys that run their full bodied Oldsmobiles in the Sub-Thirteens... that takes some Balls...!

I guess the main reason why I joined this board is to rub elbows with the performance minded Olds builders and hopefully be able to help out when I can...!

I do have one question for the Olds Guru's in the bunch... Does anybody make or have a kit for the 455 Fenderwell Headers...?

Thanks for your time...

Mark

Thanks Norm...

Hahaha... 19's is faster than some "Tuners" I've seen...!

Looks like you got a "Go Fast Fifty"... have you run it at the strip???

I normally have found cool headers that I've been able to adapt to my own applications and I've built headers for Race cars as well... but I was curious if there ever were Fenderwell headers for Oldsmobile...!

I've seen them for Pontiac and Buicks in the early days as well as most Ford and Dodge makes... but never Oldsmobile.

Oh well... I guess its back to the "Tig" for my next set...!

It's nearly stock. Now

Last time out, the Red Coupe at 3900+ lb ran 11.80 @ 114 on 92 uneaded, at about 70 ft of altitude. Grey Coupe is 50# heavier and runs about the same.

At the time of the pic, the Grey Coupe had my 2nd 468, and the Red Coupe had the first 430

Not many that weren't custom made for the application.

The more you make, the easier it gets.
