Hello everybody!
Just joined this forum and it looks great!
A bit about my car:
1988 Olds 98 Touring Sedan
Bought 4 years ago (I think) from a dealer trade in from orig. owner
Daily driver for the last 3 years
Major $$ spent in repairs (some req. some cosmetic/comfort)
Lots of trips to the wreckers for trim parts, etc.
Currently resides in my driveway under a protective cover awaiting restoration.
Any comment/questions please feel free!
Cheers,
Shane |

| Thanks for the cudos on the interior! I'm not familiar with the Ciera Brougham Holiday model though, I'll have to check out your pictures if you've posted! |

| The turnover in the local yards is pretty quick, and it's getting harder to find trim and other parts for these - I'm seeing hulks 10 years newer stacked up. |

| Nice nice car, I love the touring sedans. Do you happen to have pictures of it? I agree with 85cierraholiday, the interior is just awesome in those cars. Wanna trade? ;-) |

The Delta88 is a solid car, my family has had them in the past. Super reliable, comfortable interior. An all around good car.
But a trade for the touring sedan eh? hmmm....have to give that one a little though!
And its true, as Olaf pointed out specific trim parts are hard to come by, espically in Canada as you probably know 88delta88, but I've been fortunate enough I guess to find some good doner cars in the wrecking yards I frequent, actually found a prefectly good set of wheels/tires from and '89 TS that I picked up cheap. |

| Are those the 16" chrome finned wheels? They are beautiful! I can imagine its tough to find trim in good shape for a 1988. I know they are plentiful in junkyards, but thats not becuase they quit running... Most of the wrecks I see are total writeoffs, and not much in the line of useable parts. I had a hell of a time finding a good front header, and headlight for my car. Finally found one on Ebay (thanks again brando) |

The 1987-1988 Touring Sedans came with "15" Syled-Aluminum wheels" probably simalar to yours in fact, pretty standard in the oldsmobile family from that era, and they are in good shape overall.
But I really like the 16" wheels from the 1989-1990's you are talking about 88delta88, I think they look a lot slicker. So I picked up a set from an '89 Touring sedan that was at the wreckers.
Now I have two sets of wheels for her.
In fact I saw Another set at a different junk yard not a month ago now. But you're right, most of those vehicles do not die from age, rather from a crippiling accident. |
