Hey gang....I live near Atlanta.....on my third 98.....first two were 91 models (both REs).....have new 1996 RE 87K miles.
At AU / UF game this year a "scholar" athlete in a big-foot climbed my trunk lid. Car totaled. Good shape too. 91 with the fake convertible top. All dark blue. Now a memory. Moment of silence please.
Just got new one. 96 model loaded in MINT condition. Should be in a museum.
Question: How do I find out every available option this car might have. Via the vin number?? If so where.....If not by VIN then how. Also how do I discover how much original sticker was on this car??
Thanks for your help ahead of time. Look forward to getting to know you guys....Darren |

| In the trunk on the inside of the trunk lid or under the trunk mat should be a white sticker that has codes on it ex:C60 which would be air cond. with manual controls or C65 which is automatic a/c. Once you find these codes you can find out what your car has. |

Cieraholiday,
You are the man. Dealer down the street did not even know this bit of information. But if they ain't selling you something, they sure ain't going out of their way to find anything out. Worst GM dealer in USA. Colonial Pontiac, Lawrenceville Ga.
If you happen to know, Will the touring edition seats designed by LearJet fit in this car? I would be surprised if they did not based on the fisher body layout.. Current seats are very nice, but leather is so suple, I feel like I am going to slide under the dash regardless of seat setting.
Should I put this out as a new post question?? Not a super-user. In fact do well just to find the on / off switch. Please advise.

| I think if your car is already equipt with bucket seats the Touring Sedans should bolt in but dont quote me on that. The bench seats may be different, and you best bet would be to start a new post for the seat issue. If you need help decoding any of your codes (also called RPO Regular Production Option) let me know because I have nearly all of the codes. |

85ciera,
Thanks for the info. I will look in trunk lid and etc. for those codes tomorrow.
As for the seats I have the bench 60/40 leather now in my 96 and they are in prime shape, they just seem SO much different from the ones in my totaled 91 and I have always been fascinated with the touring buckets.
Do you know what year they last made the touring models of the 98?? Or what years they made them at all.??
Thanks for your continued help. |
