Ok i'm wondering if anyone on here knows the speakers sizes and locations for a 70 442. I'm asking because i do mobile installs on the side and have a customer wanting them all replaced and a cd player in the glove box. But he's unsure about what speakers to buy, and i'm unsure what to charge him. Well thanks in advance to all who reply
thanks a lot

Hi zerepdivad, hello everyone,
Quote: ........ speakers sizes and locations for a 70 442 ........
Original?
One 4' X 10" in center of the dash, and an optional 6" X 9" in the center of the package tray.
Olds had a slightly different mounting bracket than the Chev, but otherwise was the same. A Chev 4 X 10 has to be slightly modified, as the Olds are no longer available.
If it has AC, some of the duct has to come out for access. Probably easier than any of the new stuff, though.

Either use http://www.customautosound.com/ products (dual speakers in stock mono and they have kick panels too), or custom install (doors, fiberglass kicks, and or rear deck).

| Thanks for the replies guys. I guess i'll either install the dual speakers in stock mono location for him or i'll just locate him a good 4x10 since he wants it to all look original. Which is why i'm doing the c.d. player in the dash. So as much as i'd love to do something custom on this car i can't. |
