Where are there surviving OLD dealerships?

I mean obviously they are now some other brand (SOB) but still are owned by the old Olds folks with surviving Techs and Parts "experts".

Please note your experience with them and if they are "user friendly".

Oh phone number would be helpful if possible too.
thanks

Any GM dealership still has Oldsmobile parts and will service them.

In Houston there used to be Sam Montgomery Olds (Sam the Rocket Man)

Bill McDavid Olds

and Mossy Olds among others . But those 3 were BIG BIG BIG.

The first two have evolved into other dealerships and many if not all personell have drifted off or retired.

Mossy is now a Nissan house. they wanted badly to keep a GM shield but nothing was available in their area.

Sure you can order parts from any GM house but that doesnt mean anyone there will be able to really help with the "little things".

GM IMHO should have combined Saturn and Olds years back instead of the stand alone Saturn houses.
Also should have had GMC trucks & SUVs at all non Chevy GM Houses

Hi Hex, hello everyone,

Welcome to TOC.

I've had some experience with Dealers, and more than a little with parts suppliers in general. What, specifically, do you wish to know?

User friendly? I got "hit on" by a friendly counterman, once.

Yep. They have all been using the same computer for many years. When I still had my '89, I got my Chev parts from the local Buick dealer.

We do not read minds. What "little things" do you expect from a car dealer?

The following belongs in it's own thread.

Two different companies, cars, business models, labor contracts and, in general, opposite philosophies.

What would be gained?

They always have, but only in markets where they would not directly compete with Chev.

GM and Chev truck divisions should have been consolidated when they eliminated the differences between them.

But, hindsight is always 20-20.

Regards, Norm

In my area most have changed to other companies (outside of GM) for example my car was bought at Crabtree-Hass Cadillac-Oldsmobile which is now Crabtree Dodge/Kia. One dealer around here about 20 min from me (Branford,CT) called Farricelli Auto World, a former Oldsmobile dealer which still sells GMC,Buick, and Cadillac has been good. It really all depends on who you run into no matter where you go. I was able to order 2 new fuel injection emblems for my car ($56.88) from them and they were there in 3 days. I have found that because they work on/sold Olds cars for so long, they try to help younger people who take pride in their Olds.
