I did not see any indication that you were planning anything other than that, and I do not understand how anyone here (or, on that other site) could have misinterpreted your statement, or mine.

Now, back to business.

Sounds like it can handle a good shot of Nitrous. A complete (Compression/leakdown/etc) checkup to verify it, along with a full OEM quality tuneup, will be an excellent beginning.

Headers would be a great help while on the bottle, but very little (if any) under normal driving conditions.

Other than the usual "placebo" effect, K&N will show little improvement.

Nicer to know whether you actually had it, or not.

sean000 wrote: ........ and I don't think that is at all out of the question. I would enjoy hearing any other reasonable ideas ........
Yes, easy to do. Since any significant power gains will be found inside the engine, it will require a complete rebuild of your present engine, by someone who knows about the mods needed during that process.

Headers, would be one of the few(if not the only) external parts that would make a contribution.

There is some good information here, and much more in the Performance Forum.

Check them out, and ask about anything you don't understand. A new thread for each question, usually works best.

I've been thinking of doing a similar engine. My goal would be 232HP, or one HP per cubic inch. Easy to make the power. Not so easy to make it stay in one piece. Just waiting for the right car to come along.

Oxygen is the element that is utilized. Like Nitrogen it is not explosive.

Explosions would not be welcome inside your combustion chambers. But, that would be another topic.

sean000 wrote: ........ Do you know what it costs to put a system like that in? cost to fill the nos?
Your local Speed Shop will give you the most accurate pricing for a Kit, and/or a refill.

Installation is simple: The ability to change a carb, use basic hand tools, and follow simple instructions, is all that is required.
