Grave, Keep the fronts on headunit power, add some bass blockers, and find a 2 channel amplifier for the 6x9's.
Uh, what's a bass blocker, and why would I need it if I'm keeping them stock? |

Heh, that will basically make them things oversized tweeters :lol:
But, even with head-unit power the 3.5's are gonna need some bass blockers.
Or he could use the high pass crossover built into his new HU.
Yes, I would just power the 6x9s off a 2 channel amp...

bass blocker is just a capacitor, it's a 6db/octave high pass crossover.
You don't need them because your new HU has digital high pass crossovers built in.

Wasn't aware his head unit could separately do the fronts and rears. Mine is for all 4. |

| Alright cool, keeping the front stock, amp for the back. What about tweeters? Would I notice a big difference if I hooked them up, and how do you hook them up? |

Yea, I don't see any designation for front or rear in the manual....brilliant.
In that case, I'd get a very small 2 channel amp for the fronts.

Mines a generation older then Graves Panasonic. I can't adjust the front and rears separately. Ya know, I got an old Rockford-Fosgate Punch 30 that might work excellent with 3.5's. |

Yea...I'm looking for a new amp for his fronts...but I think old school is the only way to go to power them puppies...

An external amp is 100x better than the HU's amplifier....although some of the Panasonics have class T amps built in, that one doesn't. Just a regular ol mosfet amp in there....distortion of 100% @ 1 watt...lol...not that bad, but an external amp is much better.

200 is waay too much for the fronts. The Cardomain page says the max those 3.5's can handle is 30 watts. :confused: Would you be interested in an old school Fosgate Punch 30? |
