How many people still have the factory stereo system in their Oldsmobile?
My Ciera Holiday has the am/fm/ cassette that it came with when new. |

Nope....I took that thing out and put an Aiwa CDC-MP32 Head Unit in there...wish I did a little more research, but my dad bought it for me since I got good grades.....now my head unit means a little more to me now that he's gone

hehe... yea I had to upgrade seeing that the original unit in my car is only AM radio... no FM band or even an 8 track! it had 2 speakers in the dash but just one in the rear shelf. (the rear one was optional)
I left the old head unit in the dash to keep the original look, and installed a system that is mostly behind the dash except for a small screen that hangs down under the dash. It came with a remote so you don't have to bend down there to mess with it. And of course all new wiring, 4 new speakers and a cd changer in the trunk. |

Yea...I got mine too...it's in a box on the third floor of our house...along with a bunch of other shit...
Oh yea...I finally fixed my Aiwa stereo too....
This is a picture of the broken part I replaced:
It was actually very easy to replace
And not too hard to find the part, took a few e-mails but I got it, and it was only like 3 bux for the part....shipping was a bitch though for such a small part (was like 7 bux for shipping)....

| I remember bits and pieces what happened with my factory stereo... literally! Nothing worked on it, so we smashed it to bits! Lots of fun on an otherwise boring sunday afternoon. |

| none of mine have the factory stereos. The 72 has a panasonic cassette deck, 6 1/2" pioneers in the doors, and 6x9" pioneers in the deck. The 74 has a POS shaft style tape deck and dash speakers, the rears are long gone, and I havent gotten to building a stereo yet, the Vista Cruiser...well, many of you already KNOW whats in THAT for stereo equipment!!!   |
