My Napa Legend Battery hasn't been too bad actually....
Cept for when I had to recharge cause I hadn't started the car in quite a while...at least a week
I think they changed who manufacturers their batteries...I forgot what they changed to though....

having to jump start a car after not being started for a week is not normal. the plow truck at the shop sat all summer and fired right up this winter with a little spray of carb cleaner in the carb. of course it doesn't take all that much juice to turn over a flat head 6 cylinder in a 62 Willy's pickup.

no, it's not... unless there is some sort of constant draw. Didn't you say that something from your stereo is constantly drawing power Brando? |

The car does not need to be jumped after a week, and there is not constant draw on the battery. When you got to start the car, all the lights get very dim, the engine sounds like its not gonna start, and you can count to 5 before it catches (when its cold out you can count to 10 or more).

No...there's absolutely no constant draw on my battery except for the stereo holding it's time and presets...and yea...that's it...I am seriously thinking of doing a major upgrade on my electrical system.
I'll have to see if I'll have enough money left over...I might need to sell some more of my stuff
Rockford Fosgate 5 Channel Amp...2 MTX 12" 4000 Subs in a Sealed Enclosure....those are the best things I have...I'll have to see if there's any buyers around.

The car has no radio presets (the radio has a short that Im gonna fix this week) so there is no draw from the radio.

the draw from the radio memory is so little it should take months for that alone to drain a battery

Also, when you 1st start the car up when it is cold (like the temp is under 35 deg.) the car sounds like a jet ready of takeoff, could they be related?

hard to say if they're related....did you ever have the battery load tested, like was mentioned previously? Swing by an auto parts store and have them check it for you...if the battery tests out ok, I'd suspect the starter possibly having a short in the armature (sp), even if its not that old....that would cause a significant drain on the battery, but would turn the car over, but very slow, as you said....

Hi 85cieraholiday,Hi all
If your starter can crank the engine 10 revs, its not your battery or aternator. When troubleshooting anything, never skip a part just because it's new. Anything can fail before its projected lifespan. Have that parts store run an amp draw test on your starter, after you double check for clean and tight connections, including all grounds. Amp draw test is done on the car. HTH
