Hi again from México, just a simple question, what can be the highest performance for one block 455 (396021Fa). Are they good engines to run?
One good friend said to me: " you better get one 350 Chevrolet, or much better, a new car, a Nissan's car". But I'm not sure and I don't like Nissan.
I have the money to start the rebuilding of the engine, but I don't know if this engine can respond as I want (something like 0-60mph in 5s).
What do you thing?...
Sorry for my bad english.
Regards from México.

There is one 455 that is making about 890 horsepower, don't know how long it will live though.
This of course was a high dollar build, general consensus seems to be that the block is pretty safe up to about 600 HP, any more than that requires quite a few strength modifications.
It should be noted that I don't have experience with any of these types of builds, I am quoting what I have read and learned from Olds engine builders.
