Can't type much as I am at work on the boss's time. Just registered and wanted to say hello. I have been at ROP for a couple of years and thought being a member at another Olds site might be good. I own a '76 f85 Omega as well as the Delta. Have owned a '64 f85 once, a '71 Cutlass S once, a '78 Delta 88 once, a '76 Regency 98 once and a '79 98 fourdoor sedan. Loved em all :D
Well better get back to work.

Yes I do, and thanks for the welcome, my little '64 f85 was a nice little piece. Aluminum heads on a little 330 V8, small car, it got up and went. The '71 Cutlass had a mildly built 350, it was pretty fast too. My present Delta has a 455 (see my post under performance section for details). Should be pretty torquey and fast on the highway, a good "cruiser".

Thanks for the welcomes Brando and Dave.

Brando, don't worry, even though I am paid hourly, we don't punch a clock or get monitored to closely and I am a good employee. I don't usually spend time on the web except during lunch break.

Dave, you might check out ROP to see who is from UK or Europe over there. I know of one guy from England for sure and to guys from Europe, there is also a guy from Sweden, I think his name is Hanley, do a search. Maybe these guys could help you (you help them) with connections to get Oldsmobile stuff and service over there. There was a guy from England as a member of OCA, he was highlighted in the monthly magazine last year, trying to build up a Toro in a little garage just barely big enough for an Olds :o . Well, good luck.

Hey there OldsGuy,
put up some pictures of your car, it sounds great. The late 60's 88 and 98s are among my favorite cars. :D

I decided to make an update. I think I have only started a few threads and really haven't posted very much in the past year until just recently. The Delta 88 was sold last month, the Omega, yesterday. Why? I have a new project to keep me busy. A 1946 model 76 fastback. Progress has really accelerated these last few months: a complete 12 volt re-wiring is 70% finished, there is now a 455 (from the Delta) in the engine bay along with the TH400, rebuilt driveshaft (238 bucks  ), new aluminum radiator, frame mount transmission cooler, and all the odds and ends. My buddy and I spent a whole week fabricating the mounts to install the engine and transmission, lots of metal dust and grindings/shavings everywhere to clean up. A rebuilt Quadrajet from a guy in Texas is arriving soon. Scored a Troker on ebay for $150, spent another $25 to have it media blasted and it looks real nice now. Will fabricate some fender-well headers but want to be driving in a month so will use old manifolds for the time being. The biggest hurdle left is the fuel tank. I haven't removed it yet so don't know what condition it is in but might have to replace it. Any recommendations from anyone? As you can tell, I am an old school kind of guy and won't be fitting in too much with the newer crowd but hope I will be welcome here.

Talk to your local radiator shop first.

As you can see with Norm, those of use from the "newer crowd" can learn a whole lot from "an old school kind of guy". Welcome back!
