My daughter's 96 Cutlass Supreme SL has the dark Grey cloth split bench front seat. The seats do not provide the back support she needs. We have tried some back support devices without much success. I would like to replace her front seat with a pair of bucket seats with a backrest adjustment. Will any of the 1988-1997 Cutlass seats fit her car? Besides seat rails are there any other mods required to fit the seats? Any suggestions on where to pick up a decent pair of black or dark Grey bucket seats? We live in MD. The car is otherwise in great shape with 100K on the chassis, but only 40K on the replaced 3.1L motor. TIA

Hi defgh1, hello everyone,
Welcome to TOC,
A good upholstery shop should be able to handle anything you need.

| I would go to a local salvage yard and buy the bucket seats from another cutlass.I changed my entire interior.Seats(front &rear),doorpanels and console. This was to convert from cloth with front buckets and fixed rear seat,to leather buckets and fold down split rear.Salvage yard cost $400.Most yards concentrate on selling body sheetmetal and mechanical parts.Lots of interiors go to waste sitting out in the weather at many yards. :) |
