Ouch... ;-) Doesnt it hurt to shoot yourself in the foot?
am i missing the humor in that? plese clarify what youre making a remark to
I guess I wasn't digressing with the thermodynamics remarks-
Aluminum Foil reflects heat, like other aluminum parts. The problem is that it would be a direct conductor and radiator of heat since it would be in direct contact with the pipe. In other words, temps would increase, not decrease. |

| Must be a Buick man if he doesn't even have an Olds. Isn't that a prereq to be on these forums? |

Nothing that has not already been covered here.
If I missed something, post the quote.

You earned points for not calling it a "stroker" and lost them for claiming to have a Chev in your Olds.
That aside, it is history. You claimed to have an Olds. You have a Buick. Because of it, you lost even more credibility.

Ownership of an Olds is not required. Olds related discussions are why we are here.
Brand X discussions are welcome in the "Off Topic Lounge".

You have been bashing aluminum for its high heat transfer characteristics, and, now you are recommending we use it to keep heat from escaping? |

read every post i made about aluminum again. notice the heat soak comments i made then think about how that would apply to what i said. Alumium foil with the shiny side towards the pipe layere after layer acts as a insulator relfecting heat back into the pipe the layers allow the outside to be cooler. I can vouch for that because ive done it. i can touch the pipe for a couple of seconds with my bare hands and not get burned withe car running. |

Black attracts heat. Is your goal to heat the incoming air?

alright clown so in a dark enviorment i dont see the black paint attracting any more heat than any other color. We all know black attracts more light energy but when there is no light present than what makes it any diffrent from white, blue, purple etc.... |
