Hey everyone, i got my back windows tinted with 5% tint. They look sweet. one question should i tint the front side windows with 5% also or back off too 20%?

If it were me I'd do 20% on the front doors. It will be hard to see at night with 5% on your front doors.

Not to mention the legality issues. Check your state and local laws before you tint the front. Most places dont care about how dark the back windows are, but the fronts are usually regulated pretty hard.

Yeah, think the side windows should stay clear, personally. But, if it must be done, 35% might be more than you need.

I did the rear windows of my car in 2.5% super limo tint, when I bought it. I havent seen the 2.5% stuff since that, but its TOO dark. Cant see when I'm backing up at night very well. No one can see into the car from the outside no matter how bright the sun.

Next time I do a tint job, I want to go with 20% smoked color, I think it looks really sharp.

I agree w/everyone, I'd do the 20%. I know in my state the law is for the darkest tint is 35%

I don't even bother....my cousin had 5% all around her car, I don't know if she had to scrape it off or not, but it was very difficult to see out of the car at night.

Tint laws in michigan are pretty strict:

They used to be where you could have 35% on the front side I think, now it's a 4" strip of any darkness.... :lol:

I would go with 35%, maybe even 50%...unless you wanna drive blind (not be able to see side view mirrors).

In Iowa you can have 35 percent on the sides, and anything goes behind the driver. I did 20, b/c the damned out of date legislature page in Iowa said that was ok. That cost me about 60 dollars...

Didnt fight it, woulda been pointless.

Hello all,

CA: Nothing darker than factory to the front or sides of the driver. Behind the driver has the same visibility rules as any truck.

Rear window on my El Camino was tinted when I got it. Drove it at night, one time. Replaced the window the following day.

Every time i come across this topic or start it, eveyone brings up the legality issue :p i think i iam going to go with the 5% on the front because it will match tth e back.

furyolds, do you know anyone who has a vehicle with 5% on the sides? I seriously think it'll cause visibility problems at night... Totally up to you of course!

No doubt it would look sweet with 5%.

i had 20% on my last car, no problems i found with safety, my friends both had 5% on their front side windows, and i didnt notice a difference at nite looking out, you still can't see people without light on them with the 20% the 35% or the 5%.

i'm just doin 20% all the way around..cause my car is not a limo(taxi)...and i like driving at night without getting hassled by the "Fuzz".

What i'd like ton know about how much can i expect to pay to get mine professionally done lets say all 5 windows excluding the windshield, at my states limit of 35% all around? would anyone have a ball park idea so i dont get robbed, and or is tinting something easy enough even a novest could do.
