Got a new head unit for the Intrigue....just came today....

Can't wait...I'm gonna ISO DIN mount it...the Metra kit I got isn't very good though, so I'm gonna have to wait for the Best kit that I'm gonna get to install it. It has 5 volt preouts, 16 band equalizer for each side, auto eq adjustment with microphone to set a starting point, I can play MP3s again...

DEH-P880PRS

It's beautiful.... :)

I also have a PAC SWI-PS that plugs right into the back of the pioneer to keep my steering wheel controls...

Wish I could get a new head-unit. My Panasonic flip-face keeps shutting off every time you hit the eject button because of the loose connection. Annoying as hell when you're driving :(

I had an Aiwa in the delta....CDC-MP32, it was good for a beginning....but when I put that Clarion DXZ835MP in there.....WOW, night and day difference in sound quality.

Can't wait to get this one installed, I finally figured out that my Bose head unit just ain't cutting it. It's limiting my bass frequencies....doesn't get very low at all, sounds like it cuts out at about 50hz....which is what the lowpass crossover is set at (I get pretty much nothing in terms of sub output.

This should fix it, no doubt about that.

P.S. By Bose head unit I mean Sony....cause that's all it is.

Welp...got it all installed to find out it's a defective unit...something ain't right with the preouts. Seems to be a common problem:

I'm thumper88.

I recall reading it about old units, thought they might have gotten their shit straightened out by now. Hopefully I can get a replacement relatively quickly...bought it online, non-authorized dealer...SWEET (used a gift certificate on Amazon.com, otherwise I would have bought authorized).

Back to the stock Bose...better than nothing and better than a constant "farting" noise.

Brando, I've heard of problems like that on some car audio forums. They all solved their problems by grounding the rca outputs to the head unit itself. Trying to find that article someone did.

EDIT: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147694&highlight=pioneer

There you go. Worth a shot.

Well...I tried that out anyways....didn't do anything. I tried the other amplifier, no change. Switched RCAs....

I've done everything, the only thing that removes the noise is putting the Bose back in....this Pioneer is fucked. Really pissed that I used my $300 gift certificate on it.

No....no beef at all yet. I didn't buy from an authorized dealer though, so Pioneer's 2 year warranty doesn't apply.

The warranty rests in the seller, HookedOnTronics.com, whom I bought from, through Amazon.com.

Seems okay so far, I got live support from their site. Requested a return and exchange. Just waiting for the RA# to ship it back to them now.

Well, I installed it on Saturday.

Same noise, so I tried all kinds of different things...hooked it up in the trunk, different rcas, different grounding points, etc. No change. Only thing that worked somewhat was ground loop isolators...the noise could still be heard faintly.

So today, I decided to take my Kole Audio Q2-480 amplifier from my Delta 88 and put it in place of the Blaupunkt PA2150 going to the front components (just left the sub amp disconnected).

Guess what? No noise at all.

Luckily I already bought new amps to go in, so I'm back to the Bose for now until I get the x600.1 (already have x200.2) and find time to install them.

Phoenix Gold Xenon x200.2 for the front CDT components.
Phoenix Gold Xenon x600.1 for the CDT subwoofer...should give it some life, right now the Blaupunkt barely pushes it.
