Hello again everybody.
Ok so I brought my car into a garage to get the tires balanced by my good friend and when we had it in the air I noticed that both my transmission fluid cooler line are both sweating and look really rusted, so that would explain why my tranny fluid is low but would it make it have grease in the fluid too? I refer you to my first post http://www.oldsconnection.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2995
Now for my second problem I found an oil leak it looks like it's coming from the front cylinder head. Also I checked my oil cap and I now have the dreaded white foam. Also on my rad cap there's like brown sludgy oil bubbles... that's how I would describe it. I'm hoping that it's just my intake manifold, but I'm not to sure... What's your opinion on this guy's?
Thank you in advance for everything. |

White foam on the oil cap is not necessarily a bad thing. White foam on the dipstick, however would be. The cap will collect natural condensation that happens when the engine is heat cycled.
The brown sludgy bubbles on the radiator cap could mean that your coolant is old and is very dirty from corrosion in the cooling system.
The oil leak is probably a valve cover.
I don't think you have "grease" in the transmission fluid, it is probably transmission fluid that is way overdue for a change, and has deteriorated.
If you have coolant in the oil, the coolant will be low, and vice versa.
From what I gather of the previous thread, I would still use 88Coupe's initial reply, as some of those questions/directives are not yet solved.
Regards,

Yeah I too have an oil leak in my 93 Cut Supreme. I was changing my oil at school one day and my teacher said, " It looks like you have a slight oil leak from your manifold." It was all oily coming from it and down the block. Nothing I could do at the moment. I haven't had any major loss of oil yet.
Hope you are able to get things fixed, and hope the problem with your tranny gets fixed. |
