Hey 86delta, you've done your car with sound dampening in the passenger cab, and 2 layers up front? How hard was that, and what benefits did you notice? How is road noise now? I still have the factory setup inside my car.

actually, if i could do it again, i wouldn't. took too long and not a very noticable difference. my car never really had alot of road noise, wind noise was my problem, still is even after i replaced all the weather stripping in the doors.

Where do you get wheatherstripping for our cars... Is that not a junk yard item?

the weather stripping is available aftermarket from www.steelerubber.com it's like $90 the last time i checked for the front doors, about the same for the back. the quality is very good. i replaced both the front and rear on my car. i'm pretty sure weatherstripping is also available through the dealer, but i wouldn't get that because it is just as old as your car. got weather stripping for the front doors on my father's 82 caprice sedan, it was just as hard as the stuff we were taking off because it had been on the shelf for 15 years.
