Hello all,
My IPC seems to just go out. The heat goes out. The electronic climate control readout reads: --- , when the dash goes out. The IPC goes blank. The only thing that works is the tachometer. Well actually the heat will kind of work if it was all ready on before the dash blackout. I'm looking here--> http://www.mrwhizard.com/
They can repair the ipc for 200. The ipc from the dealer is 350.00. Mr whizard explains my problem almost word for word. Could it be a loose ground on the engine? When the ipc works it's readout doesn't show any coeds(would engine and electric code normally read out here? If so how can I show the coeds?) Can I do the jumper wire thing with the aldl connector, like I used to do on my third gen F-body?( if so which two do I jump I cant remember?) But alas the when the dash isn't out the ipc works fine and the only bad things it says are low brake fluid and that the oil needs to be changed. Other than that all other info reads fine on the ipc. I want my damn IPC to work with out these damn blackouts. Please help me find the problem. |

| no one has answers for you... but you must start trouble shooting somewhere. Maybe a service manual can tell you where all the relevant grounds for the dash, IPC, HVAC and other possible related systems are. You can verify them one by one... Connectors on the backs of the systems should also be checked. After all wiring connections have been verified, you may have to go with a replacement IPC. |

| I replaced the ipc and the thing works all the time now. |
