I have a 1992 eighty eight royale ls and the thing will just up and stall out when driving and at idle. The digital message center tells me that there is a oil sender problem.

I also would like to add that I replaced the sensor and the engine controll module and the porblem still extist. It seems to happen more when the rpms drop after the a/c cycles when the heat/defrost is on.

How are your battery terminals? Connections on your alternator? Are you getting anymore codes now that the faulty sensor has been replaced?

Well thank you all that helped out. But I finally gave up and sent it out to the shop and the problem was the computer. I had them replace it and it runs fine now.

I had the same problem on my 1998 eighty eight, I cleaned the electronic contacts on my key and problem went away.

Hi Phil Dallas,
Welcome to TOC.
Quote: Clean your key contacts ........
If the key did not allow the security system to be disabled, he would have had a "no start" condition.

His started, then stalled.

Did yours start? If not, yours was a different problem.
