Hi. I have a 1955 Oldsmobile 98 and it has red vinyl seats. I'd really like to make them either all white or green. I've been looking here, but I have absolutely no experience with this sort of thing. Since my seats are red, would it make them look weird if I tried to dye them green? Any experiences/advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated. :)

I have seen vinyl dye used for interior trim parts and it works great. Hope it works on your seats. Go for it and post photos. The worst that can happen is new seats, any color you want. Andy

If you go to a GOOD paint shop, they should have the proper dye's for what ever materials you are changing the color on. I have used the dye's on both vinyl and plastics. The best results I have had are with the Dupont products. Make sure you also purchase the proper prep products for the manufacturer, and you will be very pleased with the results. Just don't try to cover the parts all at once and they turn out beautiful. Do you have a spray gun and compressor? You will need one.
