She was backing out of a parking space, and wasn't paying attention that there was a HUGE FUCKING LINE OF TRAFFIC STOPPED BEHIND HER.
Then she "Mistook the gas for the brake" when I laid on the horn.
I do have to give it to her, that was honestly the best spot she could have hit it. I guess it's like an executioner asking you where you'd want to be shot, she really couldn't have hit it better.
I got an estimate from a local bodyshop; Estimated repairs at $1,600.
This is the second time a woman has hit my car. Both times, they were 100% at fault for negligent driving. I'm noticing a pattern here.
Does anybody know the bluebook value for my car?
1979 Cutlass Calais
85,000 original miles
Near mint interior
Minor body defects (excluding what this woman did to my baby D:< ) |

| Thats not good at all. I am sure the repair will yield good results. Also glad all worked out for you. I had my car hit in a parking lot - all the way across both doors and deep! The loser didnt leave a note or anything, and I was slightly upset! Got a lesson in body work and painting though. |

I faxed the insurance company the (corrected copy, THANK YOU OFFICER) police report this morning.
Who knows what's gonna happen..
Anyway, depending heavily on how much I get from the girls insurance company, I may decide to have the entire car body-worked and painted, since it will be in for that anyway.
If I can afford the difference, it's getting the 1979 Hurst Olds black and gold color scheme, and I will have the rally wheels painted gold as well.
Tomorrow I will be heading out to the exhaust shop to have them install my high-flow catalytic converter and make a tailpipe that's the right freaking size. I'm probably going to do "fake" duals, with a y-pipe, because it looks better. :B |

Well, I couldn't afford to have the entire car painted. Estimate for that came to $10,000 for the same color it is now, and $15,000 to $18,000 for the Ebony and Gold.
Anyway, it's back from bodywork, and it looks beautiful.
BEFORE
AFTER
This was clean sheet metal until the girl knocked the paint off it, they had to fabricate a new piece.
Very pleased with the results, and I when I get the money I'm having the same shop restore it. Great work. |
