I don't want to sound like a spokes-person for Turtlewax here, but this stuff is amazing.
The TurtleWax ICE line is some of the best stuff I've ever used on my Cutlass. I was really impressed with it. Before I was using TurtleWax Platinum, not impressive at all.
My roof had a nasty "It looks like someone spilled milky coffee on it" look, but the polish/paste got rid of it in one coat!
It also makes things shiny, this is only one coat, I've got 3 on it now. :mrgreen:
I'm taking my car to a show on the 29th, at the Augusta fair grounds in NJ, maybe I can pick up some parts there too. |

| Only problem with that stuff is it doesn't last long at all, protection wise. |

True. I have to wash/re-apply it maybe once every week and a half.
10 days, about.
Also, nothing sticks to the car. Rain beads right up and slides off.
My only complaint about it is that the rain that doesn't slide off (Hood, roof) makes water spots if it sits, so I have to go outside and dry the car off.
But if they do appear, they come off really easy with the ICE detailer spray.
But for how good it looks for those 10 days, I can live with having to constantly re-apply it. |

It's called "oxidation".

Exactly what a "polish" is supposed to do.

By definition, polish does not leave a residue (coat) as wax does. It works, by removing "oxidized" paint. The "shine" you see, is the paint that was beneath the "oxidation".

Typical of a freshly polished (smooth) paint surface. Or any oxidized (or polished) surface that has been "waxed".

Should still happen (to a much lesser extent) if protection (wax) is applied immediately after the polish is buffed off.

Check your rag afterward. If you see paint, ask yourself where it came from.

Never had any paint come off on the rag.
That would be instant dismissal for both products.
Guess it wouldn't hurt to put some real wax on top. |

Well, I was going by the shine and the way the water beads off the car. Not very technical, yes, and the protection could still be there. |
