| Everytime i look up info on upper intake manifold failures and replacement on 3800 motors its the 95-04 models. I drive a 1994 olds 98 with a Series I 3800 so am i not prone to UIM failure? |

| yes you are, Not as bad as the series 2 design, But IMO should be done every 80,000 miles, otherwise the TB gasket is the weak link in the factory designs as it deteroiates letting coolant in the airstream and eventually hydrolocking your motor............. autozone and NAPA both have them for around 70bucks There are also ways to keep your manifold lasting longer like pluging your coolant holes etc... |

x2 I think I have the series 2, and I personally despise that design. It's hard to imagine such a tiny mating surface to be an effective seal over time. Furthermore the use of plastic in the assembly makes it subject to easy warpage. Does anyone offer a better aftermarket option? |

The 91' 3800's are aluminum but the composite is plenty durable unless you turbo youre car with 18psi then you'd have to worry about it being an issue.
The only reason the ocmposite has an issue is because of where the EGR is located...otherwise it flows better and is more thermaly efficent than the aluminum design for the first year of the 3800 |

| How much psi can the stock motor take? I thought anything over 5 psi would leave you spinning out in 1st and 2nd gear |
