Having a problem finding a replacement fan switch for my '73 Cutlass. The switch(4-position) keeps blowing the fuse when set to the "Hi" speed and is in very rough shape, ratcheting between stops(very hard to move). I've taken it out and it has 5 wire connections while "replacements" have only a 4 wire plug and the wrong mounting bracket. I've cleaned the switch out with contact cleaner and used some lube on the pivot points but I'm afraid its gone.
Any suggestions on someone who has old stock on this part? Ac Delco is of no help as was OE Parts Hq. |

I just checked Fusick and USA Parts Supply.
They both list switches for up to a '72.
Junkyards maybe??
Good luck in your search. |

Thanks, but there's something screwy in the parts catalog. There's a cutoff of 70-72, then 73-77 for most Olds parts, but in my 1975 Oldsmobile Parts Illustration Catalog, under pg. OP9-18 the picture shows my switch, yet the Heading under the picture states:
1971-73 "Exc F85, Tor" Manual Heater Control Details.
This implies that the 1971-73 heater controls use the same components, yet the AC Delco parts catalog and most others use that 70-72 and 73-77 cutoffs? It also implies that the Olds 88 & 98 use the same controls.
Anyone see this before? I've ordered a 1972 switch, so we'll see. |

I've seen the '72, '73 cutoff dates when searching for various bits.
My Cutlass (not a Supreme) and my Delta 88 which are both '73s
have 3 position switches, low, medium and high. There is no
off position.
Let us know if the '72 switch works for you, I'd be interested. |

Hi HNCadet,
Welcome to TOC.
Try here, or here.
First one looks like the one in my '70 Cutlass.
