Hi Guys , New to the Forum :D

Hoping for a bit off Help/Suggestions
I just bought a 66 Dynamic 88 4 Door sedan and really want to give it some tunes .
I,m not at all sure which way to go, I don,t really want to Hack the Car a lot,I just want a Decent AM/FM/CD and some good speakers at the moment.

Has anyone here done an Install on a 66 Dynamic ?

Any suggestions , to help me make my mind up would be great,
I have heard about a few people that cut the back out off the ashtray , an did a kind off Stealth Install ?

anyway
Thanks in advance .

Unless someone changed it, the engine in your 88 should be a 425, not a 330.

mmmmm
Interesting
I havent got the Car home yet , next few days , but the guy seems sure it,s a 330.
I,ll just have to look,
What is the best way to tell if it,s a 330, or 425 ?
apart from the displacement , what am I looking for ?
I,m not experienced with US Engine,s .

I know it sounds Lame , but I,ve always had Import Car,s , Now I have a chance to Redeam Myself with some Real Car :-)

Jetstar 88 was the only B body (big car) that did not use the 425. All others (including Dynamic 88) were 425 only.

Quickest way, is to look in the area between the timing cover and the intake manifold. Following image shows a 425.

The arrow shows the distance (about 1¼") between the casting and the intake manifold. Circled is the gusset used on the (tall deck) 400/425/455 engines. If the distance is shorter (by about 1") and there is no gusset, you are looking at a (short deck) 260/307/330/350/403.

Other than the deck height, all external dimensions are the same.

Back to the image, the bottom of the arrow points to a casting number. This one is 386525A which In this case, is a 425 from a '65 B body.

Casting #389244 = 425,
or #394417 = 330.

Thank You for the information,
I talked to a guy down our street , who,s in to older cars, has about 10 in his possesion , he he
and has indeed worked on this Very car in the past
He confirmed that you are 100% correct that it is indeed a 425 :D
and he has know this Car for many years and it,s always been looked after very well, an driven Gently .

I,ve done a little searching around the Family here and they all confirm they know the Original owner , bought from new, and I will only be the 3rd owner.

Thank you for the link to the Radio,
I,ll prob place an order in the next few weeks, there are a few more pressing things I want to do,
It needs a Headliner BAD , it,s all falling apart, sent an email to EZ Boy , they confirm they have Headliner kits for the Car an want to know if I want Cloth or Vynal.
I really want to be able to do the liner myself, but if it proves beyond me i guess it,s the shop

Next It,ll be Nice Rims , I Hope
Dont wanna go wild or Crazy , just maybe a nice Chrome type
Would I be right in saying they are 14,s standard ?

Here is a link to some shots I took off the Car The night I looked it over

Let me know what you all think on the Car/Condition
it,s got less than 65000 on it , and it,s genuine

Thanks To All
