| I have an 85 Cutlass Supreme and whenever I start it up black smoke blows out the exhaust. Also when accelerating. Any suggestions? |

Hi elad226,
Welcome to TOC.
If it still has the original (Q-jet) carb, a sticking power piston is the likely cause.

| Based on mileage you may also want to consider valve stem seals. When they get worn or cracked they allow oil to leak into top of head. It is not a hard job, it does take alot of patience however. :D |

They allow the oil, that is already at the top of the head, to be sucked into the combustion chamber where it is burned, along with the fuel mixture.
The resulting smoke, is light blue/gray.
