| Does anyone know how to tell if a Cutlass Ciera has a electronic level control system? I know it was a option on these cars (it has it listed in the owners manual also), but I dont know what RPO numbers of parts under the car, etc. I should look for to find out. :( |

you would have a compressor under the hood, and air shocks in the back. If you have shocks in the back that have small plastic tubing coming out of them, then you have it. If they're just regular shocks, then you don't.
You'd probably know it if ya had it... if you put something heavy in the back of the car, the pump should come on and "level" the car. |

yea my mothers 93 regency 98 had that, but it stoped working correctly... and a new pump was alot of money, so she had the tubes connected to a fitting so she can raise or lower the back of the car manualy with an air compressor.
I put air shocks in the back of my 73, I like the way it looks lifted up a little in the back. Not too high though, because then it rides like a truck, |

| I've always wondered about that suspension. I started out with air shocks and then moved to air shocks w/ compressor/tank and manual valves it was kool! |

| look under your hood for an air compressor... or else, look on the rear shocks, and around the rear of the car for air lines, or a level switch... It'll be pretty obvious if you origionally had it. |

I believe the air compressor should be right up front in the engine compartment....on the drivers side, right behind the headlight....
That's where I put my alarm (no longer connected), there's a little platform there....it was empty...so I put it there. But I believe that's where the air compressor goes....

My 86 PONTIAC 6000 STE has the compressor mounted in the rear under the trunk on the driver side of car covered by a plastic cover.
it started to develop a leak and would kick on even when just sitting there...would freak ppl out...
also had a fitting in the trunk that you could attach a air hose to to inflate things..footballs,inflatable rafts, maybe even a tire.. |

my mom has a 93 pntiac transsport, and its got the level control. 6 or 7 of us would pile on to the rear, and then jump off when it pressured up... The back end would shoot up about 3 or 4 inches higher than it should, and then hiss back down to level...
its amazing what boredom will do to a person. |

| Thats exactly right Brando, its right behind the Driver side headlight. I have one in my'88 88 Royale Broughm, and its not hard to tell if you have one. Everytime i disengage the ignition, about 30 seconds later it makes a loud sound of a compressor. I love that part cause it freaks everybody out. |
