Hello all,
I was at the junkers today and I came across a delta88, same year, same model except it had electronic climate control module in the dash. I've got the slider type controls.
Does anyone know, if the electronic version will just slip in place of my old one, or do I need motorized flapper controls and such? If not, I can pick the unit up for 35 bux! I only want to do it if it will just slip in place of the old one with not too many extra mods.
HELP??! |

| pretty sure the whole climate control unit under the dash is different. i doubt you can just put the other control unit in there, it can't be that simple. |

Yeah, I cant imagine it would be that simple. I really dont think it would work without at least changing the cold/hot flapper control, because I assume the auto one doesnt have a cable control. And all the other flapper valves are vacuum operated, and I cant imagine the tubes would just hook up to the new one, its gotta be electric.
I'm going to leave that can of worms unopened I think. Although, if the controls were electric, I would be interested in controlling that from the car computer, I've seen it done before and its sweet :-) |

| My guess would be that all the door controls are pnuematiclly operated from a vacumm cannister, aslo, don't forget there will be sensors to that system as well. A thermostat would be mounted someplace behind a dash panel and finally the wiring/vacumm harness would be different. I wouldn't want to change from manual to automatic, I hate lying on my back upside down with my arms under the dash....... |
