| you want THOSE rims, or aftermarket... Chances are you'll get them cheaper aftermarker, but the quality of the rim is lessened aswell... Check my car out, Ive got very similar rims to him, and I only paid 600 canadian (more like 450 american) for them including the tire changeover and balance. |

| 88ciera, i really like the rims you have, they're one of the better looking rims olds produced for these cars... I always see the rims you are talking about, the bowed out type look funny... Doesnt give the same offset, or the apperance. |

sorry to burst your bubble guys but them are not the rims...
1.First off, they appear to be the bowed out type.
2.Look closely at the pics of the 2 rims.
Note the missing holes around the outer edge marked by the YELLOW.
Also note the lack of clean edges and sharp points of the trianguler
cuts marked by the RED circles.
Actually the more i look at them the more i see how different they are.
they may be for an Olds, but not original for an 88 ciera.

| hey 88 ciera, how do you usually go about cleaning your wheels??? I have a hell of a time trying to polish in between every crevice, and a toothbrush just doesnt work well either? |

spray "EAGLE ONE all wheel & tire cleaner A2Z" onto cool dry rim.
get a toothbrush thats not really fat on the sides and about medium firm.
start at the outside edge by the stem and work in a circuler motion all around each opening.work way to center of rim.
dipping brush in water about every 3 holes.
spray more EAGLE ONE as needed to keep it from drying up as you work.
once all holes are brushed, get a wet rag and wipe the smooth surface of rim..
spray with strong jet of water to rinse.
look at rim and repeat if necassary.
REPEAT to remaining 3 rims.
take time,cause i'm not in a hurry..
if wrists dont hurt after your done then you aint done it right..
works well on the tire itself too, especially if you have white walls or lettering.
ONCE DRY spray tire heavily & rim lightly with ARMOR-ALL protectant.
let sit for an hour then wipe off the rim,but not the tire. |

olds420, yeah steelies suck. And rims eliminate hub cap noise and the possibility of them falling off when cornering!
ps... thanks 88cierra, I will try that! sounds like you've got it down to a science.
I tried mothers mag & aluminum polish but that didnt work well... I would have to assume it doesnt work well on clear coated wheels. Eagle one you say... I will pick some up.
Thanks again! |
