Mine is rated at 200hp and 300 something tq. The Paw 214/224 cam, headers, and edlebrock RPM intake that I will be putting on should push my to shy of 300hp at crank. Next winter when I do my motor rebuild and build up I should push about 400-425hp at the crank.

The Cutlass is pushing 110hp and 190tq

Mine is rated 165hp and 215ft/lbs stock, but with my mods, I'll safely estimate 190-200hp and 230ft/lbs. Those are from my SOTP dyno, and comparing my car's performance to other cars of the same year.

Ahh, young grasshopper...you have yet to learn the ways of the Olds V8  Weight is NOT an issue! :P

Vista: stock 350 2 barrel not sure but it pulls 4,200 lbs around pretty good!
442: 400 Olds with 455 heads, Edelbrock intake, 750 DP, headers and duals..haven't had the car long enough to get any road time on it..still has some issues I'm working out.
Cutlass: 600 hp/620 ft.lbs torque

Horsepower- 160 @ 4000 RPM
Torque(lb-ft)-215 @ 2750 RPM

these are factory ratings and i've been told that there not correct.
that is, GM made the numbers lower then they actually are..

best thing about this engine is the low torgue rpm's.

also on the DOHC question.
I had a 1992 grand prix that had a 3.4L DOHC.

Just mod it up some more and drop some weight. :) You can boost that torque up. In fact, I bet with that intake, you have at least 10 more pounds of torque, maybe 15. I know this - my own intake dropped my 0-60 times by between .3 and .5 of a second, depending on conditions. Sounds wild, but it's true. To change a 0-60 time that much, it takes a real power increase.

Your hp and torque ratings are-1976 350 v8 cutlass-170hp@3800 rpm and torque-275lbs@2400 rpm
These are the factory figures for the optional 1976 350 V8
Hope I was able to :help:

Thanks,I was hoping for a little more than that.I guess the dual exhaust will help some...maybe 15 HP more? And I will eventually tune the carb better or get a new one.Whats the cheapest/easiest way to free up some ponies, besides the headers & exhaust...manifold and cam? :?: And what about swapping out the TQ convertor?
