| Its on the way, after feeling and being told my front end is worn out.The steering is getting loose these days,so I ordered a complete front end kit from Perf.Suspension Tech. with Poly bushings for $219,& got a larger diameter front sway bar with it.Should tighten things up nice. And a change in handling will also be had when I can get Eibach springs to lower and stiffen things up,too. It sposed to lower the car about 1". |

Personally I would skip on the Eibach's and just get a pair of Moog 5660 or 5662 springs and cut them to drop the car.
The Eibach's are around 660in/lbs while the Moog 5660 (S-10 springs) are 639in/lbs and the 5662's (IROC Camaro springs) are 706in/lbs.
The Moog springs will only set you back around $60 for the pair.
You can also get the Moog CC635 springs (F-body cargo coils) for the rear and trim them to lower the car also. But if you use those you need to buy a pair of rubber F-body spring isolators from a dealership so that they fit into the upper spring pocket properly.
How much did you pay for the larger bar? F41 suspensioned G-body's came with 1.25" front bars which plenty for a daily driver in my opinion.
Of course this is all assuming these parts are for a G-body.
I've never used any polyurethane bushings in the front end other than sway bar bushings and end links. I have them in the rear and hate them. I'll be yanking them out this summer as they make the car ride worse than a work truck. :( I'm replacing them with Global West Del-a-lum bushings instead. |

| Well,I got all the suspension parts on,& completed the lowering with Hotchkis rears. The next thing on Friday,is a 4 wheel alignment. But now my mechanic says I should have went with Bell(or Belltech?) springs because they match up better with the new KYB shocks I have..says the shocks are too tall for the shorter springs? I'm not sure if Bell makes lowering springs for my 78 G-body,I havent seen them on any sites I've looked at.Any help, comments,or suggestions?? UPDATE: Got 3 new pics on my site, though they arent the best I think you can see the differance, from the other pics.I will take more later. If the new ones arent on the front page, click on "pictures" & go the the last 3 on Pg.3. |
