Well, here's a small video I put together. The burnout and race against the Mustang were with the W/Z manifolds, new 3" dual exhaust, H-pipe and Dynomax Ultra-flo welded race mufflers.
The race against the Toyota something or other was with the stock crappy manifolds and cat-back style exhuast.

True duals fit fine on the G-body's. There are literally thousands out there with true duals.
I have 3" duals on mine and my brother has 2.5" on his. The only problem is the crossmember doesn't have dual humps. So we bought the one from www.crossmembers.com for clearance.

| i've thought about getting y-piped duals out the back. It would be cool to see 2 long trails of sparks from my exhaust tips flying down the highway when I would drop the back and raise the front all the way! Just like I had a 4" oval tip on my muffler but now it's like 1.5' wide b/c it's been smacked on the ground too many times when I'm bouncing /hopping my back end! Who else do you know that pays $150 for a full chrome muffler and beats the crud outta it, it's fun! That high flow muffler is plenty loud duals would be to much w/ high flows. |

Here is my updated exhaust pic, I changed the tips to shorter, fatter ones, cuz the others were horrid..
Ya, technically there not true duals...
That would be cool thou, I got a Y-pipe added and split off to 2 glasspacks then the tips, its much louder, sounds good, right now Im lookin at a Hi-Flow Cat. cuz mine is rottin out.
Adventually I think i will have it re-piped and possibly shortened to come out before the rear wheels on the side, first I want the body kit, have my Eibachs installed, set of rims, tint and new metallic paint. I can live with my set up for right now. |

Hello All,

True, as opposed to false?
They are either duals or a "Y" pipe. The sounds are totally different.

I have dual mufflers, but only one pipe running from the headers, 1 hi-flow cat..
my perception of "TRUE DUALS" is 2 pipes running from each header, 2 CATs, 2 Mufflers + maybe 2 TIPS..
any questions..??
The "Y" pipe is just a "fork in the road" for the pipe running from my CAT, branches off into 2 mufflers and 2 tips.. GOT IT? |

Hi Bassboy53, All
Quote: H-pipe or X? H-pipe on the two Chevies, and single exhausts ("Y" pipe) on the Cutlass and 307.
I don't see much reason to go to an X-pipe.
3"X 24" and 3 1/2" X 16" Bullets exit off fenderwell headers, under the doors on both coupes, so, H or X pipes would not be helpful.
