Just finished doing a complete wash, buff, wax, etc of my '98 Intrigue. It took me roughly 16 hours this weekend to complete.
My trunk lid looked pretty bad. It had a lot of water spots, scratches, and had a bit of a milky color to it.

So I broke out the 9" buffer, put a wool pad on it and hit the entire car with some fine cut abrasive compound. That worked absolute wonders for the scratches and milky finish.
Then I put on a sponge pad and began to put a coat of Meguire's cleaner prep/swirl remover on the entire car. Buffed that off then went to their polish compound. After that the car was ready for wax. I put a total of 3 coats on it.

I also polished the chrome wheels and sprayed on some tire dressing. And the windows all have a fresh coat of Rain-X.

Here's a few pics:

The pictures don't do the finish justice. This is absolutely the BEST it has looked since I've owned it. And the paint looks 10 times better than my '87's when it was only 6 years old.

Now I'm scared to drive it. I'd hate to see it get dirty. :(

That is...VERY VERY NICE!
Have to wash my mom intrigue too...1998.
It needs one badly. Just bought a 10" Buffer and 3" detail buffer.
Maybe get it as shiny as that one...but it doesn't have the chrome rims, just the alloy ones.

you did an amazing job. I know how much work this is... What kind of wax do you like to use?

Has anyone heard anything good or bad about that new turtle wax high gloss? Just saw an ad on TV last night for it.
