not limo tint.
this is actually the black vinyl sunscreen they use on your windows to stick the letters onto.
used the letters ,but not the background,to put the OLDS RIP on my back window.
anyways i have a big sheet of this stuff so i used it..
just had to use a really sharp exacto knife to cut through the vinyl+vinyl backing+"Oldsmobile" pattern.
wasn't hard but took my time..
same material they use at them decal sites for $10.00.
mine was free..

In the US the highmound (3rd) brakelight became law in 1986. It was a option on my car (I dont have it). They can pull you over in CT if its out (learned that in autoshop).

Ahh.. I dont think that is the case in Canada... That kinda sucks. For some reason the US has much more strict regulations than canada.

In the G-body third brake light you don't need to permanently affix them like that.
The housing just unscrews and you pull it away from the rear window.

If you have a nice printer you can print your own out. Just buy some transparency film for printers at Offic Depot or Office Max.
Make whatever design or word you want and then set it in place.l
This way you could change it infinitely if you wanted to.

first of all it's not "inside" the light.
it is stuck onto the surface just like your winshield stickers.
the blackout is vinyl.
it's not permanent and i dont see why it would be illigel since i see alot of cars with them...

if i could get the letters out of the kitty litter box i would send them to you.
there all over the place..
i'm a slob i guess..

i used mspaint to design the letters then just kept resizing them until it fit right and printed it out..
layed the printout over the vinyl and cut around the letters with a very sharp exacto knife.

My post was in response to 88Cutty. I was just letting him know of a different solution as he has a G-body and the third brake light is setup a little differently.

It's the same setup for the Delta 88 H-Bodies too. The 3rd brake light is pressed up against the rear winndow and has two screws holding it down.

I might try that sometime...but maybe I'll try cutting out the Oldsmobile text like in my avatar.... 8)
