My tranny has been acting up. It just stopped pulling. I left it in a parking lot that night. When I came back the next morning, the car went into gear and I made it about 4 blocks and it stopped pulling again. I think it may be a broken band, but I don't think the tranny is totally f*&^ed up. So does anyone have any suggestions on what is wrong.

What does the tranny fluid look like? Change the tranny filter too, that might help

see if there IS tranny fluid... I had a caddy that did the same thing, but it was because there wasnt enough fluid for the tranny to pick up.

The tranny stick says it is full. I thought it was that also. And before that happened, my torque converter had unscrewed itself from the flywheel. I tightened it as well.

I would have to say that a torque converter unscrewing itself from the flywheel is not normal??? You may have some big problems...

9 out of 10 transmissions fail due to overheating. Thats why i just installed a tranny cooler on the weekend its sweet, really easy to install lots of space to with, i took of the front grile for better access i placed it in front of the ac condensor for 100% effencity. Read up on tranny coolers lowering the temp can double life of ur tranny supposely.

I think that on most V8s the torque converter is bolted to the flywheel by three pretty hefty bolts, not familiar with any that are screwed on.
