Hello,

I decided to join the forum after receiving an invitation at Car Domain.

I own two 70 442 holiday coupes. One I purchased earlier this year. The other I inherited from my dad in 1981. I drove it for awhile and then it went into garage storage for 19 years.

I pulled it out at the end of last year and it is presently going through a complete restofication process. It should be back on the road in a few more weeks.

If interested both can be seen through my signature link.

Thanks for looking,
John

Hi Blonzz, All
Welcome, I've been following along on ROP and have been waiting to see it up and running.
Looking good, so far.

Thanks for the compliments and welcomes.

The project has been stalled for the last month as it has been back down at the paint shop for some final work. It should be coming home later today.

I have a brand new set of aftermarket SS II wheels sitting ready to go on the car. I have them fitted with 255/60R15 for the front and 275/60R15 drag radials for the rear.

I still need to complete allot of interior work. I also have a Torque Tech 3" X-pipe exhaust system that needs to be installed that I purchased earlier this year.

I hope to have it back on the road by fall.

John

Very nice looking engine! What are the specs? Do you like those Edelbrock heads? Where did you get the air cleaner? Nice job with the valve cover breathers (no pcv?). And finally, beautiful paint!

I am a regular at ROP like you and Norm, just never noticed your car before, have you posted pictures there as well???

Thanks for the compliment.

Yes I have posted pics over at ROP when I started the project as well as recently. The engine buildup is a...

468 BBO 9.75:1 CR
Performer worked heads and intake
camshaft
230°/240° @ .050
.522" Intake Lift
.542" Exhaust Lift
110° Lobe Separation
Pertronix Flame Thrower HEI
Holley 830 HP
Thorley Headers 1 3/4" tubes 3" collector

The air cleaner is a no longer made GM performance parts Oldsmobile embossed lid which I applied a 1970 442 engine decal to. It is using a Green Performance filter. I have now installed a PCV valve since the picture was taken.

I have not tried out the Edelbrock heads as the car is not on the street yet. But is does perform on the 400 Ft driveway straightaway!
