Does anyone have any experience with Lane Custom Products?
I was thinking about having a custom 14" open element air cleaner top fabricated with an embossed Dr. Olds emblem. The finish would be powder coated metalic gold like my cars exterior and the emblem would be outlined in black.
Something on this order with the Dr Olds emblem set in metallic gold background.

| No I don't sorry, but that idea is a good one. I get constant flak from a good friend about using an open element and he has a good point. I just haven't been able to find time to design and fabricate a closed system with fresh air intake forward of the radiator yet. And you gotta admit, the open element setups really look good, you never see "the Doctor" any more...... |

I was planing on having a set of custom valve covers fabricated as well.
Something on this order.
I was thinking of a smooth top without the horizontal lines. I don't care for the red top. It looks pinkish to me. If I did go 2 tone I would like some suggestions on top color choice. Maybe just one solid color would look best?
The lower section of the valve covers and the air cleaner lid would be powder coated Eastwood "Sungold Metallic" 10342
Very poor representation of the true color. It is a gold with a high metalic content.
With the below logo embossed.
Once I recieve some preliminary designs back from Lane I will post them. I have already sent them my design thoughts.
Thanks,

Here is a color chip that arrived today. It is also called "Sungold Metalic" but is not from Eastwood. I scanned it in below.
The Eastwood sample was taken from their site. Maybe they will send me a chip if I ask. The only true way to decide.
I think it needs a top coat of gloss clear regardless. Black valve cover tops would make a nice contrast as well as match the block.
