|
|
Alright,
So, I am going to get some new front speakers, which are 3.5", cause pyle is shit and that's the end of that. Anywayz, I have lowered it down to TWO choices:
JBL GTO326 3-1/2" 2-way loudspeaker
Infinity KAPPA32.5CF 3-1/2" 2-way custom fit loudspeaker pair
Now, what is this custom fit thing all about with the infinitys?
The JBL also has the Plus One and most of the same features as the Infinitys, except the Infinitys have supposedly up to 105 watts. I can get the JBLs for $40, and I can get the Infinitys for $52.
So, which one should I get?
P.S. JBL and Infinity are both Harmon-Kardon companies if you didn't know that.

73Delta88, any reason why you voted for the JBLs?
I am thinking of going with the kappas, do they distort at all?
A review on sounddomain said they never distort but I really can't believe that...is it true?

Well, I guess I'll go with the infinitys, since I can get em for $48 now, at SoundDomain.com. That 105% price beat thing is great. And 73Delta88....that's very funny...yet also very sad!

i haVE the infinity's and let me say that when i put them in and managed to get the crossovers tucked in there too.
i turned the radio on and just sat there and said WOW.
after having the stock speakers in the dash for so long the infinity's just simply blew my mind.
so much better sound.
i had to adjust the fader alil ,went from a zero setting to a R2, so i could actually hear my 6X9's in the rear.
but the sound is awesome in my opinion. |

| any speaker will distort if you run enough power to it. go out and buy some bass blockers (150Hz for 3 1/2's) and those will sound crystal clear when you crank them. |

Shouldn't need bass blockers since the KAPPA's have external crossovers. A Bass Blocker is a just a high-pass crossover...nothing more. So I am guessing they won't distort if Infinity made the crossovers right.

| If you have a good cd player then you wont need base bockers....well along with good speakers too, but with my new deck, it hasan adjustable high pass filter that puts all the base to my subs. It makes my other speakres sound great. |

All this talk about nice infinity speakers makes me sad!!!
I almost bought a whole outfit of front 3.5" AND 6x9" for the back Infinity speakers... for just under 200 bucks!!! The salesGIRL made me soooooo mad I just walked out, and regretted it ever since!
She actually started back-talking me when I said I would be the one installing it, not thier monkies in the shop. She basically said "unless you have an installers certificate, you dont know what you're doing." Then, after she got mad when I said I didnt want no damn extended warranty I said forget it!!!
I should have just talked to the manager and bitched, and got a better deal! But I was too mad at the time, so that never occurred to me! |

They got here, and I just finished installing and listening to them.....
Oh My God!
I absolutely love these speakers, a perfect compliment to my system.
They sound great and have no distortion whatsoever, even if I put the head unit all the way up! No pops (lead slap) like my old Pyle shits speakers had, and like I said, no distortion. If your thinking of getting coaxial speakers, I highly recommend Infinity!

So, you like MTX speakers....can't say I have actually seen any reviews or heard their full range speakers. How do they sound? I am definately happy with my Infinity Kappas, but I'd like to hear what you have to say on them. :o

brando..gimme a couple days and i'll snap some pics of the new system in the vista  i think youre gonna like it...
as far as MTX goes, i've ran MTX for a long time, its always been a great brand for me, i prefer it over Rockford Fosgate by a long shot, always thought the RF speakers sounded a bit tinny, but theres 10 ppl who'll say the opposite too. Myself, i've always been an MTX man. |
