| I have seen a few people put them in their front doors and it turned out well. I currently have 6.5" speakers in the mail for my front doors. The trick is to space them out some with the mdf panel that you put in to mount it on. I would suggest Infinity slim mount 6.5". They have a top mount depth of something like 1.9" |

I have Clarion 6.5 component set in the front doors, used to have 51/4 kenwoods, but I made these fit.
Its the tightest fit possible ! the window just clears the magnet, and the wires that go to the power doors/windows had to be wired to a metal hole, to hold them up from getting in the way.
You just need to get the exact spot, and cut some metal in the panel
here is proof
You dont need to use any MDF
my next plan is custom fibreglass doorpanels with speaker pods, and custom fitted arm rests. |

Fiberglass door pods would be the best bet and you'd be able to design them to angle the speakers where they need to be.
Similar to these:
They house a 5.25" MB Quart coaxial, 4" MB quart mid-range, 6.5" JL audio bass, and 1" Pioneer tweeter in each door panel.
These will be installed once the car comes back from paint.
The beauty of making a fiberglass enclosure is that you won't have a need to cut the door. :) |
